The Show Must Go On: Night Of Heroes
Valleywise Health Foundation
Going virtual meant Valleywise Health Foundation’s Night of Heroes generated more money at less cost, and in the process, it multiplied its audience. The entire April 23, 2020 fundraiser was live-streamed so viewers around the world— literally, 10 countries—could bid and contribute to the public teaching health system that has served the greater Phoenix area for more than 140 years.
Emcee Karie Dozer, Carey Peña’s Inspired Media 360, auctioneer Letitia Frye and Fund Duel created an interactive show that resulted in a first-of-its-kind, one-hour virtual Night of Heroes. The audience “attended” from the comfort and safety of their homes.
The honoree was 10-year-old burn survivor Isabella McCune and the medical team who treated her at the Arizona Burn Center – Valleywise Health. The event has been viewed thousands of times, as well as the film Isabella. The previously planned event had an expected in-person audience of 300.
The one-hour event grossed more than $225,000 for COVID-19 emergency needs and the new Arizona Burn Center – Valleywise Health.
