The Washington DC teacher grew up in a way that is truly hard to imagine. “My grandmother had 13 kids. 9 of the 13 kids were heavily into the street life and drugs.” Including his own mother.
Named one of the top 25 CEOs in Phoenix, Christy McClendon’s passion comes from her own personal experience. McClendon, who runs the Phoenix based non-profit New Pathways for Youth, was raised in Kentucky by grandparents who had only 8th grade educations.
