Every year Jackson Hole Therapeutic Riding puts on an incredible Polo Tournament to raise money for their life-changing programs. But in 2020, Executive Director Tori Plennes found herself in a tough spot. Like so many organizations, COVID had forced their annual tournament to be postponed.
Habitat for Humanity Central Arizona, Stearns Bank, Cullum Homes and hundreds of others joined host Carey Pena, and special guests Larry Fitzgerald and Hall of Famer Kurt Warner for a virtual fundraising night that raised $270,000 for the organization in June 2020.
Going virtual meant Valleywise Health Foundation’s Night of Heroes generated more money at less cost, and in the process, it multiplied its audience. The entire April 23, 2020 fundraiser was live-streamed so viewers around the world— literally, 10 countries—could bid and contribute to the public teaching health system.
