What is the most exciting thing you are working on right now?
I was just appointed by Mayor Stanton to his FastTrack Cities Committee and even more exciting is my work with Focus On Lyme a non-profit funding research at TGen to create the first DNA-based test for Lyme Disease. I had 2 years of undiagnosed Lyme that left me with relapsing Multiple Sclerosis.

What failure did you learn the most from and what did you learn?
I allowed my company to grow in the wrong direction and I was miserable. After 8 years I let everyone go and started over with my current business partner so I could focus on what I love to do. In one year we’ve grown to the size of my old company but with a renewed vision and happiness.
What is your go-to strategy in moments of self doubt?
I follow Oprah’s lead. I find a quiet place. I calm my mind and I ask myself “what’s my next best move?” And I do that. I also believe in starving the ego and feeding the soul. The ego prevents us from gaining perspective which is so necessary in life. Every disaster is really an opportunity.
Who or what are you most grateful for?
My husband Tim. He inspires me to be my best self. Next are the women in my life. My business partner Monique is brilliant and kind, my dear friend Nicole Stanton is the definition of leadership, my best friend Kristin Priscella is brains, style and heart. And of course you Carey!
How do you recharge?
I meditate every day. I avoid negativity of all kinds and I practice gratitude. We pray every night over our meal and give thanks for the blessings in our life. I show a photo of the gym below because every day I’m there is a testament to my survival and my grit and determination.
