Tara Hitchcock, TV Personality/ Former host “Good Morning Arizona”.
What is the most exciting thing you are working on right now?
Trying to combine my love of TRAVEL with my love of family and entertainment! Hosting segments for Harkins Theatres “Behind the Screens”, Good Morning Arizona and working on a travel book (In addition to my period “Tara’s Big Travels” features for Phoenix Magazine and JetSet Mag.
What failure did you learn the most from and what did you learn?
As a consumate ‘control freak’, I have realized (although it’s taken years) that we can truly only control the things we have actual control over…lessons I learned on the job (when our morning show format changed during the Belo years & I wasn’t having fun anymore) and as a step-parent.
What is your go-to strategy in moments of self doubt?
Pictures! Oh, and volunteering…and yoga! I am very blessed & if I ever forget that, I look through my family & travel photos..takes me a few minutes to remember how blessed I am. Plus, if you really need to snap out of it, volunteer or work with a great charity…that will do the trick instantly!
Who or what are you most grateful for?
Where do I begin?? My parents…grandparents….sisters…husband…stepchildren..It takes a village and I’ve had the support of a ‘village’ my entire life! & bosses like Phil Alvidrez, Bill Miller & Dennis O’Neill (former KTVK guys) who believed in a young 25-yr-old working in Beaumont, TX.
How do you recharge?
A perfect bath and a vodka cran (ok…I’m not a big drinker, but it does the trick occasionally)…and planning our next family adventure!
Show us the place that most inspires you:
Favorite inspirational quote: Carpe Diem (corny, predictable and from one of my favorite films “Dead Poet’s Society” SEIZE THE DAY!)
