Patricia Watts, Co-Founder, Deco Communities.
What is the most exciting thing you are working on right now?
I am thrilled to be a part of the 2017 Heart Ball Committee under Char Hubble’s amazing leadership and, in particular, to be co-chair of the 2017 Pacemakers Club with Melissa Rein Lively. Our Pacemakers club is raising $100,000 to fund much-needed CPR training kits for Title 1 Phoenix High Schools.

What failure did you learn the most from and what did you learn?
I would say the failure that taught me the largest life lesson was my first marriage. I was very young, and I learned that the person I need to listen to the most was the one that I never paid attention to – myself!
What is your go-to strategy in moments of self doubt?
Acknowledge those self-doubt voices, and then work hard to ignore them and just push through and get the job done!. Every day I try to take on the most difficult challenges first thing so that I can avoid over-thinking and over-worrying. Or, as I tell my kids, just do the hard stuff first!
Who or what are you most grateful for?
I try to take a few minutes every morning and every evening to center myself on the things that I am grateful for, and give thanks for those things in my life. The cornerstone of my gratitude is always my amazing family, living in a democratic country, and the small things – a great cup of coffee!
How do you recharge?
My daily work-out routine keeps me continually charged and focused. Hot yoga class 3 – 4 times a week, a cardio class or a hike on the other days. For a seasonal recharge, a long-weekend up in Whistler, BC. or, a long-weekend in LA. Either the outdoors, or the vibrancy of a great City!
