Char Hubble, 2017 Heart Ball Chairman.
What is the most exciting thing you are working on right now?
The most exciting thing that I’m working on is the 2017 Heart Ball. I am working with an amazing group of women who put in endless effort to support the American Heart Association. It brings me joy knowing our work is going into an inspiring cause to bring awareness to heart disease and stroke.
What failure did you learn the most from and what did you learn?
One of my biggest failures is not appreciating all of the wonders that a moment captures. I get caught up in the experience and sometimes allow it to slip out of my reach before I can take it all in. This failure reminds me to treasure my surroundings and put my heart into everything I do.
What is your go-to strategy in moments of self doubt?
My go-to strategy is reminding myself that 1 in 3 women die of heart disease and stroke and 70% of it is preventable. We need to reach out to the women around the world to bring awareness and protect. In self-doubt, I remind myself that I keep going for the people around me.
Who or what are you most grateful for?
I am most grateful for my incredible family. They show me unconditional support. I come from a large family and the importance of cherishing one another is beyond strong. The connection that we all share is like no other and I can’t thank them enough for their love.
How do you recharge?
I recharge by taking a step back and acknowledging that the effort I put in goes to a bigger cause above me. It’s important to remind yourself of your goals. Though there are times I may feel overwhelmed, I know it will pass by staying strong and hopeful.
